Obituary: Marilyn "Nan" Fiegl, 89, Short Tract


Short Tract --- Marilyn “Nan” Fiegl of 10978 William-Eldridge Road passed away peacefully in her home on May 6, 2017. She was born on May 29, 1927 in Canandaigua, a daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Burke Andrews. On August 29, 1958 she married Lawrence E. Fiegl who predeceased her on March 31, 1984.
A prominent local artist, Nan studied art at Syracuse University and Rochester Institute of Technology. Her artwork has been displayed in numerous galleries and private collections both within and outside of New York State. In addition to her love of painting, in her younger years she, along with her husband, raised and showed purebred Arabian horses.
Surviving are her children, Roseanna (Jay) Wilson of Belfast, Tract Fiegl, Matt Fiegl both of Fillmore and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a brother, Donald S. Andrews as well as by numerous dear friends, including “The Challengers”, an art group that she founded and that gave her great joy.
At Nan’s request there will be no funeral or visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
