Hornell - Dorothy Rose Pyer, 87, formerly of the Town of Fremont, passed away Wednesday (Jan. 13, 2021), at the home of her granddaughter; Crystal and Mark Pyer-Brooks at 11 Emmett Street in Hornell.Dorothy was born July 28, 1933 in Canisteo, the daughter of Harland and Helen Ferris Wyant, and had resided her entire life in this area. Dorothy will be remembered for her well groomed yard and flower gardens. She especially enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Victor Pyer in 2015, as well as her son; Larry Pyer and four brothers. She is survived by two daughters; Linda (John) Norton of Hornell and Cindi (Jim) LaPianna of Florida, her son; Lee (Stacy) Pyer of Fremont, two sisters; Ann Stephens of Greenwood, and Carrie Burger of South Dansville, two brothers; Merle (Betty) Wyant of Arkport and Kenneth (Doris) Wyant of Cuba, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
