A two-alarm fire in Cuba Monday afternoon damaged a home on County Road 20. Cuba and Friendship firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 2:09 p.m. The first fire chief on-scene confirmed it was a “working structure fire.” Heavy smoke was pouring from the rear of the structure. The second alarm brought in fire equipment from Clarksville, Belfast, New Hudson, Rushford and units from Cattaraugus County. According to broadcast reports, at least one person was evaluated for possible smoke inhalation. Fire crews remained at the scene for some 90 minutes. The cause is under investigation.
