The Siemens facility in Wellsville is gone and now, concerns are swirling about the long-term future of the Siemens Energy plant in Olean. Many of the 'office' workers from the former Wellsville office were shifted to the Olean operation. Siemens Energy officials told the Times Herald that changes to the firm’s manufacturing centers may be necessary “to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving industry.” A spokesperson for the company told the newspaper this week that "no decisions have been made." Last year, the media, at least a few, had floated the idea that Siemens may close some of its facilities as it competes in the global market.
Siemens is expected to report its earnings on February 2nd.
