SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Robert L. “Bucky” Buchsenschutz, Sr.,
73, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Coudersport and Allentown, Pa., passed away on
Sunday, December 6, 2020, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, after a lengthy illness.
Born on Tuesday, December 31, 1946 in Coudersport, he was a son
of Frances Buchsenschutz. Bucky was a
graduate of Coudersport High School. He
was a self employed logger before his retirement.
Bucky enjoyed fishing. He
was very proud of his sobriety for the last 7 years.
Surviving are the mother of his children, Joyce Moore of Port
Allegany; a daughter, Pamela J. (Herm) Burrows of Shinglehouse; five sons,
Michael A. (Lori) Buchsenschutz of Woodstock, Virginia, James A. (Cathy)
Buchsenschutz of Port Allegany, Daniel L. Buchsenschutz of Sharon, William F.
(Tonya) Buchsenschutz of Port Allegany, and David E. Buchsenschutz of
Smethport; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson;
a great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Dorothy Salyers of Seneca Falls,
N.Y., Cheryl Maynard of North Carolina, and Doris Merriam of North Carolina;
several nieces and nephews; and his friend “Letty from across the road”.
In addition to his mother, Bucky was predeceased by his second
wife, Shelia Buchsenschutz; and a son, Robert L. Buchsenschutz, Jr.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will
be held at a date, place, and time to be announced. Burial will be in Eulalia Cemetery,
Coudersport.
