Wyoming County: Sobriety Checkpoint yields multiple DWAI by drugs arrests

On November 6, 2020, members of the New York State Police (NYSP), officers from the Warsaw Village Police Department (WPD) and deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department (WCSD) conducted a sobriety checkpoint on State Route 20A in the village of Warsaw. The following subjects were arrested and released to appear in Warsaw Village Court at a later date:

Melissa A. McMorris, 31 of Buffalo, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (NYSP)

Amadou M. Diakite, 20 of Brooklyn, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (WPD)

Matthew A. Durfee, 37 of Warsaw, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (WCSD)

The checkpoint had 195 vehicles traveled through it with an addition to the 3 DWAI by Drug arrests, 37 traffic tickets were issued for various violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
