House fire in Belfast ruled accidental, family left homeless

Fire gutted a home on South Main Street in Belfast late Sunday night. Allegany County Fire Coordinator Jeff Luckey says the blaze was ruled accidental. The fire began in the lower level of the two-story wood frame structure. The home was fully engulfed in flames when the first of several units arrived. No one was inside when the fire broke out, but Luckey said an adult couple and a teenage male resided there. The American Red Cross is providing assistance. He said the volunteer's did a "great job" in quickly containing the flames. The first units were on scene of the overnight blaze within minutes. Luckey said a car near the house also sustained some damage. There were no injuries reported.
