PRESS RELEASE
On November 16, 2020 at 6:39 p.m., Troopers responded to a head-on collision on State Route 16 in the Town of Yorkshire. Further investigation revealed that a 2020 Volkswagen was traveling southbound and a 2015 Chrysler traveling northbound hit head-on. The operator of the Volkswagen, Michael Neville, 26, of Machias and the passenger of the Chrysler were taken to Erie County Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. The operator of the Chrysler, Elizabeth H. Cousins, 39, of Delevan was pronounced deceased at the scene.
New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded to the scene.
This collision is still under investigation.
