Allegany County wants to build a public transportation shelter in Wellsville

The Allegany County Legislature will consider this resolution Monday at 2 p.m.-

APPROVAL TO UTILIZE PRIOR YEARS BANKED ACCELERATED TRANSIT CAPITAL PROGRAM GRANT MONIES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TWO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SHELTERS; BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO FUND THE

CAPITAL PROJECT

            WHEREAS, the County wishes to utilize 2016 and 2017 Accelerated Transit Capital Program (ATC) grant monies with original contract dates of May 27, 2008, through May 26, 2019, and

            WHEREAS, the funds would be used to build two public transportation shelters located at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Wellsville, New York, and at the Park & Ride lot in Belmont, New York, and

            WHEREAS, the capital project will be funded by NYS Grant Accelerated Transportation Capital Improvement funds, annually, funding awards are “banked” from prior years, pending approval of necessary capital improvement projects and no local match is required, and

            WHEREAS, Allegany County has previously banked $7,860.64 from 2016 funding and $22,642.36 from 2017 for a total of $30,503 for this capital project, now, therefore, be it

            RESOLVED:

            1.         That the use of “banked” funds totaling $30,503 from the 2016 and 2017 NYS Grant Accelerated Transportation Capital Improvement funds for the purpose of constructing two public transportation shelters is approved.

            2.         That the budget adjustment is approved as follows:
