Yvonne E. Setzer “beloved mother, grandmother, and
sister”
COUDERSPORT, Pa.---Yvonne E. “Bonnie” Setzer, 86, a longtime
resident of Coudersport, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020, in UPMC Cole,
Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born on Thursday, February 1, 1934 in Borie, she was a
daughter of LeRoy and Florence Reed Shaw.
On August 23, 1952 in Salamanca, N.Y., she married Kenneth R. Setzer,
who passed away on September 19, 2007.
Bonnie was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Olean General
Hospital in Olean, N.Y. for a short period of time; later worked at the former
Anchor Toy Company in Coudersport; and retired after 21 years of employment at
Encon Midland Optical in Coudersport.
Bonnie enjoyed cooking and baking cookies for her
grandchildren, who were her greatest love.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia A. Black of
Coudersport and Gloria J. (William) McCauley of Daytona Beach, Florida; six
grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Ethel Reed of Olean, N.Y. and Caroline Piccirillo of Olean, N.Y.; a
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Marcia Setzer of Yreka, California;
and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bonnie was
predeceased by a son, Bruce L. Setzer, who passed away on May 15, 2008; and
several siblings.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no public
visitation. Bonnie will be buried next
to her husband in the Reed Cemetery, Borie.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on a date, time, and place
to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coudersport
Volunteer Ambulance Association, 122 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915;
to the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department, 171 Port Allegany Road,
Coudersport, PA 16915; or to the Christmas House, 402 North Main Street,
Coudersport, PA 16915.
Bonnie entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral
director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
