SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.- Marcia A. Lamar, 65, of Shinglehouse, a
former longtime resident of Bolivar, N.Y. and also a former resident of Eldred,
passed away at home with her loving son by her side on Friday, November 30,
2018, after a brief illness.
Born on July 1, 1953 in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of
Kenneth and Juanita Prindle. On April 10, 1973 in Port Allegany, she
married Thomas W. Lamar, who passed away on March 23, 2016.
Marcia was a graduate of Port Allegany High School. She was a 4-H volunteer in Smethport where
she enjoyed club activities with her grandson, Johnny, who she dearly loved.
Surviving are two daughters, Leoma (Chris) Lowman of Eldred
and Daisy Post of Bradford; a son, Danny (Marie) Lamar of Shinglehouse; eight
grandchildren, John Post, Jr., Mikayla Post, Alex Post, Elizabeth Lowman,
Kristopher Lowman, Casandra Lamar, Jonathan Lamar, and Ann Marie Lamar; a
brother, Raymond (Nermie) Kelly of Smethport; six sisters, Dolly (Dean) Benson
of Johnsonburg, Robin, Sis, June, Leona, and Tina; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marcia was
predeceased by a son, Denny Lamar; two brothers, Kenny and John; and a sister,
Dale.
In keeping with Marcia’s wishes, there will be no public
visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of
the donor’s choice.
Marcia’s family has entrusted her care and cremation to
Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral
Home, Shinglehouse.
