Pauline E. Smith, 77, of Harrison Valley, PA, died Saturday,
December 15, 2018 in the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. Born August 7, 1941, in
Westfield, she was the daughter of Charles and Mildred Briggs Hurler. On August 6, 1988, in Ulysses, she married
John A. Smith, who survives. In her
younger years, she was employed by Mapes Woodworking in Genesee. Pauline was a homemaker and a lifelong area
resident. Surviving besides her husband, John, are: six children, Mary Ann Pickering of Tioga,
James (Diane) Pickering of Harrison Valley, Douglas (Tracey) Pickering of
Rexville, NY, Timothy Pickering of Westfield, Thomas Pickering of Harrison
Valley, and Elizabeth (Curtis) Coates of Harrison Valley; 12 grandchildren, Bobby (Kayce) Barner,
Vickie (Ted) Vanskiver, Stanley Barner, Amy (Terry) Sawyer, Mindy Kibbe, Tiffany
(AJ) Costley, Brittany (Ed) Riley, Shane (Lindsey) Pickering, Nathan Pickering,
Tyler Pickering, Kurtis Coates, and Dawson Coates; 13 great-grandchildren, Hunter Barner, Jacob
Barner, Caylee Barner, Caden Sawyer, Madisyn Sawyer, Haleigh Kibbe, Bryden Teller,
Bryleigh Teller, Harper Costley, Aria Costley, Kaylen Riley, Cole Riley, and
Brynlee Pickering; two step-daughters,
Anna (Tom) Davis of Merrill, MI and Sherri Smith of Midland, MI; a sister, Betty (Edwin) Kibbe of Harrison
Valley; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was
predeceased by a daughter, Linda K. Pickering; and a brother, Charles Hurler,
Jr. Friends may call at Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA
on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., with Funeral Services
following at 2:00 p.m.. The Rev. Timothy
H. Miller will officiate. Burial will be
in Brookfield Cemetery. Memorials may be
