Joyful Rescues - 2018 PetFest to Benefit Homeless Dogs & Cats is on August 3rd & 4th

CUBA ─ Joyful Rescues is hosting its annual PetFest from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4 at Joyful Rescues at 1319 Turock Drive off Jollytown Road in Cuba, New York. The event includes opportunities to meet Joyful Rescues adoptable dogs and cats who await their “furever” homes, tours, and great food with vegetarian options available for purchase. Come find a treasure at the basket raffle or the yard sale featuring kitchen and household items, toys, tools, home and seasonal decor, gently used or new pet supplies including crates, clothing other accessories and larger items.
On August 4, tours of Joyful Rescues facility, eight-acre property and a self-guided pond tour will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by a 2:30 p.m. adoptable pet parade. Back by popular demand, the band “Sticktights” will be performing background music between 11:30 – 2:30.
This event is free, family friendly and all are welcome including pets on leash. Monetary donations and donations of leashes, collars, toys and food are also gratefully accepted along with cash donations for our "Gizzie's KISS IT BETTER Fund" for the animals we help who need critical medical care. All event proceeds benefit Joyful Rescues and help us continue to save homeless animals.
All adoptable pets are featured on our website site at www.joyfulrescues.org and on the Joyful Rescues Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/joyfulrescues. An online adoption application is available which all adopters (must be 25 years of age) must complete to be considered.
Joyful Rescues is in its sixteen years of operation and rehomes dogs and cats of all ages from regional shelters, high-kill shelters in the southern United States, former “puppy mill dogs”, as well as dogs and cats who are surrendered to the organization from former owners who can no longer care for them. A tireless group of volunteers and rescue staff work to match dogs and cats with their “furever families,” promote spay/neuter programs, attend community events to share our vision and mission and help reduce euthanasia rates in high-kill shelters by transporting adoptable animals to Joyful Rescues.
Joyful Rescues is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization accredited by the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and matches adoptable dogs and cats with loving homes.

(Dog) “Seymour” is a 9-year-old neutered Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie Mixed and weighs about 9 lbs. He came to us from a "puppy mill" who was looking to find homes to 29 dogs who had apparently "served" their time... He is learning to love life for a change! Seymour enjoys exploring outside and taking walks. He is good on leash & car rides. He is currently learning how to be house trained. Although he has limited vision, he finds his way easily around the house and enjoys family snuggle time along with the other dogs in his foster home. Seymour is good with cats and would do best with older children. Seymour is currently available for adoption at Joyful Rescues. www.joyfulrescues.org.
(Cat) “Nellie” is a 9-year-old dilute calico spayed female. Her owner became ill and she was brought to Joyful Rescues. Nellie is a pure “Love Bug”. She is super sweet and adores belly rubs! She is doing very well in her current foster home with the resident cats and the Chihuahuas. She loves to play, and her favorite toy is the “Cat Dancer”. A cat can live between 12-18+ years if cared for properly. Nellie is currently available for adoption at Joyful Rescues. www.joyfulrescues.org.
