Fire destroys Hinsdale Highway building - two hurt

A fire destroyed the Hinsdale Highway building on Route 16 Thursday afternoon and sent two people to the hospital. Firefighters received the call just after one o’clock. Additional help was quickly called in from half a dozen agencies to include Westons Mills, Allegany, Ischua, Town of Olean, Portville and Cuba. Other fire departments were placed on standby. Online photos showed heavy smoke and fire conditions. At least one plow truck was destroyed by the fire. Two people were transported to OGH for smoke inhalation. Fire Investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause.
