Allegany County Churches Schedule Prayer Focus

Allegany County churches and Christian organizations and individuals will hold a Journey to Transformation prayer, praise and worship gathering this weekend at Yorks Corners for a renewed call for pray for communities in the Genesee Valley.
The 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 25, session, to be held at Yorks Corners Mennonite Church, 3350 County Road 19, Wellsville, will include a showing of the video "Awaken the Watchman," followed by a seeking of God together in prayer for revival and transformation.
In addition, The Escriban Family, which now leads the music ministry at Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church in Scio, along with David Peralta, a viola player with the Venezuelan National Symphony Orchestra and a music professor, will provide music for the event.
The gathering is part of an ongoing transformation initiative for Allegany and Upper Potter County, Pa.
A multiple of Mission Genesee Valley Journey to Transformation churches held a January 2017 training, led by the national Sentinel Group.  In May of last year some 120 church-goers also participated in a Solemn Assembly involving worship, declaration of community needs, corporate repentance, and prayer.  Twice last year, families joined together for unity picnics, drawing overflow crowds for praise and worship, prayer, prayer walking, family activities and more.
Churches and Christian faith organizations also have been seeking God's direction through ongoing prayer activities.

The twice-a-month praise, worship and prayer events, with live music, are held at various county churches, often focused on a particular subject, such as families, substance abuse and the prescription drug and heroin crisis, schools, and veterans.

These gatherings are designed to provide a communities focus on combating issues of addiction, abuse, racism, suicide, poverty, family dysfunction and more that pastors say are extremely serious issues throughout this area, the United States and the world.
