Cuba: Closing the Gender Gap in Politics – A Special Presentation by Diana Cihak, WomenElect PAC

The public is cordially invited to join us Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cuba Circulating Library, 39 East Main St., Cuba, NY for a special evening with Diana Cihak, President and Founder of WomenElect PAC.
In keeping with its mission to encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in government, the League of Women Voters of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties invited Ms. Cihak to describe her organization’s leadership development program, which encourages community-minded, accomplished women to offer themselves as candidates for public office.  The program will begin with a 15-minute presentation, followed by an extensive conversation and question and answer period.
WomenElect is a 13-week leadership development program that prepares qualified women to run for office.  Sessions focus on teaching the unique skills required of candidates for elected office, including, but not limited to, thorough training in fundraising, public speaking, image development, press/media relations, and leadership development. Women who are considering a run for office in the near and distant term (about 2-10 years) may apply to take part in the training program.
About our Presenter:  Diana Cihak has been involved in politics and political campaigns since she entered college at DePaul University in Chicago.  She has worked on campaigns at all levels from School Board races to Presidential campaigns and was elected as a Delegate to the 2008 Democratic Convention.  She is also an entrepreneur and has been a supporter of numerous organizations that advocate for the empowerment of women and girls throughout her career. Diana serves as the President of the Board of the Women’s Business Center at Canisius College, a member of the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women and a member of Women Events Buffalo.  She is the President of Upper Edge Consulting, a government relations and grant writing agency.
