BATH -An innovative effort to combat opioid addiction and its impact on all Steuben County residents will be announced when the county Legislature meets at 10 a.m. Feb. 26 at the County Office Building, 3 Pulteney Square. The effort is a joint operation involving all official disciplines in Steuben, including law enforcement, prosecution, rehabilitation and local school districts, and builds on past successes while incorporating innovative initiatives (only in place in one other county in the state). "The District Attorney, Sheriff, Community Services, and partner agencies will unveil a truly comprehensive proposal to address the opioid crisis," said county Manager Jack Wheeler. "While the county has been working vigorously in recent years to combat this issue, the proposed initiative will be a critical next step in this fight."
