Obituary: Robert L. Studer Sr., 72, Greenwood

Robert L. Studer Sr., 72, of Church Hill Rd., passed away Saturday (December 9, 2017) at his home after a courageous battle with COPD and other illnesses.
Born in Willing, May 5, 1945, the son of Paul and Virginia (Ellsworth) Studer, he had resided in the Greenwood area most of his life. Robert was a life member of the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Dept. where he was past chief and currently on the Executive Board. On June 13, 1965 he married the former Bonnie Raish who survives. He was employed as a welder and fabricator for all of Hornell’s Railroads and retired from GEC Alstom. For as much as Robert was a loving father and husband, nothing could compare to the relationship he had with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, a son; Robert L. Studer Jr., his siblings; Nancy Brundage, William Studer, Shirley Cornelius and Danny Studer.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie of Greenwood, a son; Rick (Michelle) Studer of Greenwood, 2 daughters; Vickie (Lee) Hoyt of Arkport and Michelle (John) Hendrickson of Cameron Mills, 2 brothers; Fred Studer and Eddie (Marcia) Studer of Willing, 3 sisiters; Wanda (Sam) Shon, Paula (Jim) Borden and Donna Jones, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way, as well as several nieces and nephews.
