CUBA – John Charles LaFleur, 73, of Cuba, died Wednesday (Oct.
4, 2017) at home. Born January 16, 1944 in Williamsville he was a son of Roy
and Margaret (Wik) LaFleur. On March 15, 1969, he married Lois Jaszka at St.
Gregory the Great Church in Williamsville.He attended St. Peter and Paul School and Williamsville
South High School, both in Williamsville, before studying automotive mechanics
in Pennsylvania. John served in the U.S. Army for two years and then went to
work for various construction companies in Buffalo. He was a member of
Operating Engineers Local 17 for 40+ years, and retired from L.C. Whitford
after 30+ years. He and Lois moved to Cuba in January 1977, where they started
and raised a beautiful family together. While John loved taking to the sky in
one of his personal airplanes, tinkering with his model airplanes and Mopar, he
always wanted his family to know that above all else his wife, children and
grandchildren were his greatest love and highest accomplishment. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children:
Roy (Trina) LaFleur of Wellsville; Lori (John) Lamberson and Arthur (Felicia
Hadsell) LaFleur of Cuba; Jessica (Jason) Hunt and Charles (Amanda) LaFleur of
Friendship; seven grandchildren: Katherine, Emily, Avery, Kennedy, Daniel,
Ethan and Vivian; and five siblings: Betty Knop, Joyce Harlock, Daniel LaFleur,
Harold Harlock and Paul LaFleur; as well as many in-laws, cousins, and nieces
and nephews.Friends may call Sunday (Oct. 8, 2017) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9
p.m. at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull
