Obituary: Gerald L. Sharp, 76, West Clarksville

Gerald L. Sharp: Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend
Gerald L. Sharp, 76, of 2341 Rte. 305, West Clarksville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 21, 2017 shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital. Born on May 23, 1941, in Wirt, he was a son of Dale and Gladys Hosmer Sharp.  On October 15, 1965, in Richburg Baptist Church he married the former Cheryl I. Kerswill who survives. Gerald was a graduate of Allegany Central School Class of 1961.  He then served in the Unites States Navy from 1961-65. He was employed by Dal Tile for forty years retiring as a lead machinist in 2005. 
Gerald was a life member of the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Company for the past 45 years and served of the Clarksville Board of Fire Commissioners for 27 years.  He loved his family and was fondly thought of by his friends.  He enjoyed camping, hunting, having coffee with his friends at Sloppy Joe’s Deli, and was always there for anyone needing a helping hand.  For many years, he helped maintain the grounds at Breezy Point Campground in Scio. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Daya (Mike) Gaines ofWellsville, Darin Sharp of Port Allegany, PA Dara (Joe) Geyer of Belfast; His grandchildren; Jennifer Sharp, Daniel Geyer, and Braeden Geyer; A Great Granddaughter Nora Sharp; A brother, Mike (Anita) Sharp of Clarksville; 3 sisters, Dail (Bruce) Ellis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda (Greg) Kellogg of Florida, Wendy (Terry) Hughes of Florida; Several Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son Mark Sharp in 2005, and a grandson Matthew Sharp in 2017. Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until noon at which time a Celebration of Life Service will be held.  The Rev.
