Obituary: Francis A. Hann, 84, Wellsville


WELLSVILLE – Francis A. Hann, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday (Oct. 5, 2017) at Jones Memorial Hospital.
Francis was born on June 13, 1933 in Andover to Gerald and Flossie Irene (Harding) Hann. He  attended Andover Central School and later served in the United States Army from 1953-55. After his service in the Army, he settled in Wellsville for the remainder of his life.
Francis worked at Funland Skate Center in Wellsville and was a popular fixture there for many years. He previously worked as the head custodian at Brooklyn Middle School in Wellsville for 33 years.
Francis is survived by four children; Debbie (Brian) Weber, James (Cindy) Hann, Denise (Dave Snyder) Creedon and Diane (Bill) Mesler; one brother, Howard (Georgiana) Hann; six step-children, Patrick (John) Mack, Robbie (Julie) Mack, Amy (Steven) Bell, Shannon (Kenny) Painter, Kayla Raecher, and Kaycie (Edward) Griffith; nine grandchildren, Rick(Stefanie) Weber, Laura Weber, Michelle Weber, Heather Weber, Mike Mesler, Aaron Mesler, BradleyMesler, Mariah Mesler, and Asa Creedon; and several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and close companions, Sandy Hann and Margaret Hann Evans.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Hann and Warren Hann; his sister and brother-in-law, Clara (Doug) York; his second wife, Helen Mack Hann; one step-son, Scott Mack and a grandson, Chase Creedon.
Francis spent many years serving the Wellsville community in many capacities. He was a member of the Wellsville Ambulance Corps, Civil Defense Rescue Squad and the Wellsville Fire Department where he was a past Chief. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, roller skating and making homemade suckers for family and friends.
Per his wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Saturday (Oct. 14) at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Andover. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover.
