An Arcade woman is facing welfare fraud charges after she
allegedly filed false documents with the Wyoming County Department of Social
Services.
Summer Spencer, 37, was charged with Welfare Fraud 4th
Degree, a Felony, and Offering a False Instrument to File 1st Degree, a Felony,
after an investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and the
Department of Social Services.
It is alleged that
Spencer failed to report everyone who was living in the household. By failing to report everyone in the
household she collected $22,119 in county taxpayer benefits to which she was
not entitled to.
Spencer is due in the Town of Warsaw Court on September 11,
2017.
