Obituary: Susan M. Bergevin, 62, cooked at Wellsville Country Club

Susan M. Bergevin, 62, of 1314 Route 446, Hinsdale, passed away at Olean General Hospital on September 19, 2017, following a lengthy illness. Born March 21, 1955 in Batavia, she was the daughter of Thomas and Fern Guyette Mattern. In Hinsdale, on July 11, 1992, she married Richard L. Bergevin who survives.
Susan had resided all of her life in the Western NY area. She grew up in North Chili and graduated from the North Chili High School 1973. She became a great cook, cooking for the Wellsville Country Club for a short time and the Chuck Wagon in Olean for many years. From there she was in customer service for Warner Cable for 10 years. Her enjoyment was cooking, gardening, playing BINGO, playing cards, and collecting jewelry. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them. She was a member of the Ishua Union Church and the Ishua ladies Fireman's auxiliary.
Surviving besides her husband Richard are three sons, Robert L. (Tabitha) Bergevin of Gainsville, GA, Thomas S. (Sunny) Mattern of Richburg and James L. Haymes of Hinsdale; a daughter, Nadine A. (Russell) Small of St. Petersburg, FL; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was predeceased by two brothers, Clifford Mattern and William Mattern; a sister, Kathy Faglie; and a grandson, David Bressette.
Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home Friendship, 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. on Sunday September 24, 2017. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 4 p.m. Myrna Young from the Ishua Union Church, will officate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Friendship.
