St. Bonaventure will kick off the 2017-18 basketball season with Bona Fan Jam, a free event open to all fans, on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. with an outdoor fan fest on the basketball courts between the Reilly Center and Richter Center. The outdoor events will include a DJ, YMCA inflatable laser tag and obstacle course, speed pitch, free throw contest, cornhole games, Shults mini car races, police cars and fire trucks, SPCA animals, face painting courtesy of Campus Activities Board, a coloring contest, and food sold by local vendors Angees and Randy's Up The River. The outdoor portion of Bona Fan Jam is weather permitting. Should inclement weather occur, the outdoor events will be cancelled.
At 6:00, the action will shift inside the Reilly Center where the Bonnies men's and women's basketball teams will be introduced during a midnight madness-style event. The agenda will include videos, introductions of both teams, a Shooting Stars contest, a student skills contest, the SBU cheerleaders and Reilly the Bona Wolf, performances by the Step Team and Hip-Hop Team and an autograph session with players from both teams.
The Reilly Center concession stands and RC Café will be open throughout the event, and the ticket office will be open from 5:30-8 p.m.
St. Bonaventure students who attend Bona Fan Jam will receive vouchers for the traditional Wolfpack t-shirts, which they can redeem at the season-opening doubleheader on Nov. 10 at the RC.
