Obituary: Christopher A. "Chris" Thomas, 51, Shinglehouse

Christopher A. “Chris” Thomas “beloved brother, uncle and friend”
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Christopher A. “Chris” Thomas, 51, of Shinglehouse, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.
Born December 21, 1965 in Olean, he was a son of Kenneth C. and Carol L. Gross Thomas.
Chris was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Class of 1984, in Shinglehouse. 
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 530 in Shinglehouse.  He loved to hunt, fish, trap, and spend time with friends and family.  He loved his Chihuahua, “Jethro”.
Surviving are two sisters, Monica J. Thomas of Shinglehouse and Mare R. “Beckie” Thomas of Kingston, Tennessee; a brother, Kenneth C. “Buck” Thomas of Dayton, Ohio; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents, Chris was predeceased by his companion, Bobbie Jo Kellogg.
At Chris’ request, there will be no public visitation.  A graveside memorial service will be held in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, on a date and time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sons of the American Legion Post 530, PO Box 25, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.
Chris’ family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
