Born in Hornell on Oct. 26, 1944 a son of the late Lewis F. and Virginia (Hawkins) Ellington. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by two sisters, Linda and Diane; and his loyal companions, Fisher and Hunter.
A longtime employee of Max Wilkins in Hornell, he has owned and operated Eddie’s Garage at his home in Thacherville for many years.
Eddie will be remembered for being a hard worker and putting in many hours at the garage. He especially enjoyed working in his garden and yard, they were his pride and joy.
Surviving are his two children, Joe (Karen) Ellington of Arkport, NY and Julie (Mike) Ingham of North Hornell; three grandchildren, Cameron Ellington, Laici Ellington (Connor Rouillard) and Kiel (Cassie) Davis; one great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Davis; one brother, James Ellington; two sisters, Deborah (Jack) Hollowell and Donna Accardi; several nieces and nephews; as well as his longtime friend and his, “right hand man” John and his wife Lynne Garippa, who was considered part of the family and his longtime friends, Bob and Barb Hammond.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
