Olean City battle garage fire

On Tuesday May 28th at 1:14 p.m. the City of Olean Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire at 586 Fountain St. Fire crews arrived at 1:19 p.m. and found smoke coming from a detached two-car garage.

Crews stretched a hose line and made entry into the garage, and water was on the fire at 1:21 p.m.

One patient was evaluated on scene for smoke inhalation by Trans Am Ambulance Service. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was deemed unintentional, due to improperly discarded smoking material.

The City of Olean Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Olean Police Department, Trans Am Ambulance, and Deputy 4 Coordinator. Weston Mills was on standby for city coverage during the fire.
