Alfred State: Clark, Ford, and Cook honored with Advising Award

A trio of Alfred State faculty members were honored with the Excellence in Faculty Advising Award during the 40th annual Honors Convocation. Megan Clark (Assistant Professor Nursing), Nicholas Ford (Instructor Civil Engineering Technology), and Greg Cook (Instructor Electrical, Machine Tool, and Welding) were honored for going above and beyond to positively impact a student’s college experience.

Clark is credited by her students for being amazing and doing everything she could to help them succeed. For always being there to help, no matter the situation, for going out of her way to care about her students, and for encouraging her students to do their best.

Nominators shared that Ford is credited for being extremely helpful and caring in helping his students. He has created a dynamic class environment that is thought provoking, he displays a passion for the field of surveying and passing that on to his students, and he has tailored his classes and labs to the interest of his students.

Cook is credited by his students for being an understanding and amazing professor that cares about his students. He is always willing to work with students if something comes up or they need extra help, he is impacting their learning on new and difficult topics and is instilling confidence in his students.

ASC President Dr. Steve Mauro presented each of the three recipients a glass star and a certificate to commemorate the award.
