Caneadea man faces new charges in Wyoming County

Already facing trial for a violent assault in Wyoming County, 32-year-old Alva C. Rinker of Caneadea now faces new charges. Warsaw police say they recently arrested Rinker and charged him with driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlicensed operation, driving an uninspected vehicle, and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He'll answer those counts in court March 15th. His other pending trial involves a case where he allegedly choked and physically abused his girlfriend. According to The Daily News Online, he has a history of violence and was convicted in 2011 of assaulting a 74-year-old man in Arcade and was sentenced to a year in jail.

Rinker also served a term in state prison for a bizarre shooting in 2012 at a home in Richburg.

Rinker and three other people went to the home about 1:30 in the morning and Rinker fired a shot at the house.
