Power outages continue, restoration times unclear

Power outages continues across the region this morning after a storm front rolled through Sunday. The number of outages in Allegany County has dropped to under 500 and involve National Grid, NYSEG and RG&E customers. At its peak Allegany County had more than 1,500 people in the dark. Steuben early today showed about 500 customers without power and Potter County had more than 1,200 customers affected, the majority were with Tri-County Rural Electric. Fire crews were busy for hours dealing with downed trees and power lines. The National Weather Service clocked a peak wind gust at the Wellsville Airport of 60 mph at 4:39 p.m.
