Obituary: Frances Viola Woodworth, 70, Jasper
Frances Viola Woodworth, 70, of Five Corners Road, Jasper, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, November 16, 2020.Frances was born at home in the Town of Woodhull on October 15, 1950. She attended Jasper Central School.
On January 2, 1973, she and Ronald C. Woodworth were married in Hornell.
Frances had been employed at the Marion Rohr Co. in Hornell and then later at the R.F. Reynolds Cheese Co. in Woodhull for several years. She had also done housekeeping for several families in the area.
The most important role that Frances had was that as homemaker, wife and mother, taking care of her family with deep love and a firm hand when needed. As described by her daughter, “Though she be but little, she is fierce”. She was always there to assist family members with any challenging task that they may encounter. She enjoyed sewing and was known for making rice bags for heat therapy. Frances liked to watch the birds that would come and go in her yard and over the years, she amassed a huge collection of Christmas Village figures which she would display every holiday season.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Ronald Woodworth of Jasper, her children, Tammy (Ron) Hurd of Greenwood, Ron (Greta) Hill of Greenwood and Loretta (Joel) York of Troupsburg, her grandchildren, Haleigh (Aaron) Miller, Brittne Hill (Nate Dewey), Brayden Hill (McKenzie Foster), Leandra Gonzalez, Kirsten (David) DuBois and Brendan York (Andrea Solinas), great granddaughters, Kaidence DuBois and Kinsleigh Miller, her siblings, Bessie Winegardner of Bath, Etta Hill (Bob Rader) of Addison, Jennie Persing of Knoxville, PA, Shirley Converse of Hornell, Mary (Ricky) Nye of Woodhull, Almon Hill of Addison, Rodney Hill of Bath, Gary Hill of Bath and Philip Hill of Addison along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a memorial gathering planned at a later date. It is asked that to honor the memory of Frances, please make the effort to spend time with your loved ones.
