Alma Town Supervisor responds to Highway Department issue, legal threats

During the wee hours on Wednesday, Wellsville Regional News (WRN) posted a story involving the town of Alma. The story involves a law firm that represents the Alma Highway Superintendent regarding an ongoing legal dispute.
Wednesday afternoon, WRN sat down with Town Supervisor Ron Staedt and board member Vinny Bock. The hour-long meeting was pretty much off the record, however Staedt did provide an attorney approved press release for us. (The original story, for background, can be found HERE). The Town Supervisor provided WRN with the press release, a notarized statement from a highway department worker and a state comptroller's 2010 opinion regarding "Internal controls over scrap material." One thing is clear...the town of Alma is divided on this issue and there are facts and fiction being distributed.
Another point is also clear...according to census stats from 2017, the population of Alma in 2017 was 852. The political primary is just weeks away and has "gobs" of people involved. It could be good, or not. People choose their elected officials. Here is the attorney approved release for the Town of Alma:
