Wellsville: Under new ownership, Fassett Lane Building & Home Center plans grand opening event


Fassett Lane Building and Home Center in Wellsville is officially under new ownership and a re-grand opening is planned for next week.  The deal was was finalized April 2nd. The new owners are no strangers to the business…Dan Peters has worked there for thirty-eight years and Butch Calcote has been there twenty-four years. The company first opened in Wellsville in 1979.  Calcote tells us the grand opening is set for next Thursday, Friday and Saturday (May 2-4).  A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for Thursday May 2nd at a time to be announced. The Home Center is open seven days a week and the new owners hope to add new events and seminars to the lineup. You can find them on Facebook (@FassettLaneLumber).

Calcote said this morning that the business is a significant supporter of community events. He noted they sponsor a Little League team, charitable benefits, volunteers and emergency services, churches and Habitat for Humanity, to name a few. He said he and Peters had been thinking about purchasing the business “for several years.” Their opportunity came when former owner, Dr. Peder J. Hancher decided to retire.
