Olean man charged with vehicular manslaughter

An Olean man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter following a deadly car crash Wednesday on Route 417 in Carrollton. Deputies said 47-year-old John McStraw of Walnut Street was attempting to pass a semi trailer when he struck an oncoming car operated by a 48-year-old Killbuck resident. That driver died at the scene. McStraw was arraigned in court and sent to the Cattaraugus County jail. Bail was set at $15,000.
