Wellsville man receives jail time for trying to sell heroin

A Wellsville man pleaded guilty Thursday in Allegany County court to attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. Christopher White, 25, had originally been charged last year with felony 3rd degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. The crimes reportedly occurred at 39 1/2 Seneca Street in the village of Wellsville. According to a press report from the District Attorney's Office, White was originally found to be in possession of 31 bags of heroin, a hypodermic needle and conspired with other people to "engage in the sale of heroin." Under the terms of a plea deal, Judge Thomas Brown sentenced White to serve six months in the county jail and five years on probation. Of course, add on the usual court surcharge and DNA fee...The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Mike Finn. White was represented by attorney Steven Lanza.
