Rev. Merritt E. Burdick, 85, of Scio, NY, died Tuesday,
February 6, 2018 in Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY. Born May 26, 1932, in Inavale, Friendship,
NY, he was the son of Ernest and Mary Dennison Burdick. A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably with
the US Army. He was employed as a truck
driver, logging over three million miles.
Merritt was a member of Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church. Surviving are: two sons, David W. (Candy) Burdick and Steven
Burdick; grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
several step-children; and two
siblings, Esther Cook and Si Burdick. He
was predeceased by his wife, Clara, on January 3, 2018; a son, Leslie Burdick; and two siblings, Bessie Smith and Philip
Burdick. Friends may call at

from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Carl Kemp will officiate. Burial will be in Dimmick Cemetery,
