Louise I. Depew, 87, of Camp Hill, PA, formerly of
Wellsville, NY, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 in West Shore Hospital,
Mechanicsburg, PA. Born March 28, 1930,
in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Olin and Helen Swarthout Barnes. On February 10, 1951, in the Christian
Temple, Wellsville, she married Neil Morgan Depew, who predeceased her on April
16, 2015. She was a longtime resident of
the Petrolia, NY area. Louise was a
member of the Christian Temple, now Grace United Church, Petrolia Grange, and a
life-long member of the Petrolia Hose Co Auxiliary. She worked a short period of time for Kaiser
Glove Factory. Louise was a Cub Scout
Den Mother and for years after her own children were grown, she baby-sat for
many families in the Wellsville area. Her love and concern for her family was her
passion in life. She enjoyed baking,
knitting, camping, and bird watching.
Surviving are: a son, Douglas
(Judy) Depew of Wellsville; three
daughters, Debra (Chuck) Stahara of Camp Hill, PA, Diane (Hal) Branham of
Glendale, AZ, and Denise (Daryl) Ordiway of Wellsville; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister Patricia Smith; a brother Donald (Sharon) Barnes; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was
predeceased by her parents; and brother-in-law, Roland Smith. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m.,
Friday, February 16, 2018 in the Christian Temple, 99 Maple Ave., Wellsville,
with the Rev. David Potts officiating. A
luncheon will follow in Grace United Church, 289 North Main St., Wellsville,
NY. Burial will be in the Woodlawn
Cemetery, Wellsville. Memorials may be
made to Grace United Church or Hart Comfort House. Arrangements are entrusted to
Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville.
