Obituary: Rodney E. "Stub" Sisson, 82

Rodney E. “Stub” Sisson:  Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather
Rodney E. “Stub” Sisson, 82, of 8789 Daggett Hollow Rd., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born on August 19, 1935 in West Clarksville, he was a son of Lawrence and Elizabeth Childs Sisson.  On January 23, 1954, in Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania he married his wife of 64 years, the former Carol A. Eastman who survives.
Stub owned and operated Sisson’s Appliances for many years and had also worked for the Town of Clarksville and Town of Genesee as a Heavy Equipment Operator for several years.  Always having work to do, he never really retired.  He continued doing construction and excavating work for himself and others.   He was a devoted family man and caring neighbor plowing driveways, fixing anything that was broken, and found great joy in helping anyone in need. He had attended the West Clarksville Baptist Church. At one time he was sexton for several cemeteries in the area with his last being Clarksville Cemetery where he was still working.
He loved to hunt, fish, and go camping in his RV. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Roderick A. (Joanna) Sisson of Clarksville, Charlene D. (Daniel) Davison of Bolivar, Roger E. (Debra) Sisson of Bolivar; his grandchildren Craig Sisson, Kelly LaFever, Matthew Sisson, DJ Davison, Cheyanne Amidon, Sierra Sisson, Stacey Sisson; 3 Great Grandchildren; A brother Dean (Rosie) Sisson of Delevan; a sister, Jeanette (Thomas) Cradduck of Portville; several Nieces and Nephews…And his beloved dog Polly. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Ronald Sisson.
Honoring Stubs wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.  Burial will be in West Genesee Cemetery, Genesee New York.
