$8,000 RAISED FOR GREG COTTON SCHOLARSHIP BENEFIT

Accepting the check was Doug Moot a
teacher at Whitesville Central School on behalf of Laurie M. Sanders –
Superintendent and Tammy M. Emery – Principal/CSE Director.
On Saturday, January 6th Paula, Mark & Brian Cotton, Whitney Riley,
Ashley Martin, The Stick Tights, The Whitesville Central School, and
The Cuba Palmer Opera House sponsored a benefit in memory of Greg
Cotton. Music was provided by The Stick Tights and there was a huge
Chinese Auction and 50/50 Raffles.  Students, fellow teachers &
musicians, along with friends and family, gathered for this very successful fundraising event. The funds raised will be used to create a scholarship to be given to a Whitesville student who excels in Math
and/or Music.
Greg was a frequent visitor at the Palmer Opera House and music was
his passion.  He really enjoyed participating in the monthly Live Open
Mic Night.   On Thursday, January 18th, the Board of Directors of The
Cuba Palmer Opera House met and presented the Whitesville Central
School with a check for $8,000.
