Robert A. Cummins, 63, of 7226 County Rd. 1, Friendship,
passed away Wednesday, December 06, 2017 at Olean General Hospital after a
short battle with cancer. Born on October 17, 1954, in Cuba, he was a son of
Arthur and Amelia Nordin Cummins. He is
survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathleen A. Schumann. Robert was a graduate
of Friendship Central School Class of 1973.
He then served in the United States Navy from 1980-84.
After his military service, he returned to Friendship and
began working for Air Preheater in Wellsville as a machinist retiring in March
of this year after 30 years of service.
He enjoyed hunting fishing, riding snow-mobiles and
motorcycles, was a fantastic cook that enjoyed barbecuing and loved to travel.
In addition to his wife Kathy he leaves behind a son, Robert
C. Cummins of Friendship; 3 daughters, Cindy
Swick of Syracuse, Rachel (Leon) Burdick of South Carolina; Sara Nichols of Fillmore;
12 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, a sister, Sandy Cummins of Leroy, several Nneces
and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers
Jeffrey, Mark, and Leon. The family will
receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service,
Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at which
time a funeral service will be held. The
Rev. Kirk Kirch, pastor of the United Church of Friendship, will officiate.
