Obituary: Anna I. Brown, 91, Wellsville
Anna I. Brown, 91, of Hallsport Road, Wellsville, NY, died
Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Wellsville Manor Care Center following a brief
illness. Born July 1, 1926, in the Town
of Willing, NY, she was the daughter of Lewis A. and Mildred M. Buchholz
Fanton. On January 12, 1944, in
Arlington, VA, she married Roy R. Brown, Jr., who predeceased her on July 21,
1990. A graduate of Wellsville High
School, he earned her LPN degree from Alfred State College. During World War II, she was employed by
Worthington Turbine in Wellsville. She
was employed as a waitress by the Texas Hot Restaurant and for many years as a
LPN by Jones Memorial Hospital. In
retirement, she worked as a home companion for area residents. Anna was a longtime member of the Willing
Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She
enjoyed time spent with her family and many friends. Surviving are: a daughter, Joann M. Ives of Wellsville; five grandchildren, Theresa M. (Wayne)
Tedrow, Roy L. (Sue) Brown, Tammy I. (Scott) Stephens, Stacy (Jason) Ives, and
Shelly C. (Jonathan Pawlak) Lall; 17
great-grandchildren; eight
great-great-grandchildren; nieces,
nephews, and cousins. In addition to her
husband, she was predeceased by a son, Rev. Roy R. Brown, III; a daughter, Mari Lou Lall; sisters, Pauline Clestia Fanton and Luella
Leona Fanton; and brothers, Robert
Eugene Fanton and Ralph Lewis Fanton.
Friends may call Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home,
Wellsville, NY, where Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Gene N. Miller, Pastor of the Yorks
Corners Mennonite Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Hallsport Union Cemetery, Town of Willing. Memorials may be made to the Willing
