Funland Skate Center, located on Baldwin Road in Wellsville, has been a place of memories for 3+ decades. The entertainment facility has been closed for the past few weeks as it undergoes a substantial rehab project. It's an example of a local business investing in the local economy. While it doesn't employ 'gobs' of people, it is operated by some dedicated people and has provided smiles for many, many others.
According to its Facebook page, the Skate Center hopes to hold its grand re-opening on September 29th (tentatively). Looking toward the future, this is what the company said on Facebook:
We are
planning a "holiday vendor event" at the rink for Sunday, November
12. We are looking for craft vendors and small business owners who are
interested in renting a space to sell, or even take orders for, their products.
We like the idea of bringing the community together to support local vendors
and small businesses and also offer shoppers a chance to do some holiday
shopping. If you are interested, or know someone who is call and leave a
message at the rink (585-593-2000).Wishing them many more years of success...
