Allegany County Legislature approves $420,000 911 Center funding

The Allegany County Legislature Monday afternoon approved spending $420,000 to support the county 911 Center. New CAD software is needed despite a purchase just a few years ago. The purchase won't punch taxpayers, we are told. Grant money, 911 surcharges and sales tax revenue will cover the cost, we're told. Legislator Karl Graves had concerns about the project, based on an opinion piece submitted to us. However, after getting questions answered today, he voted yes and the measure passed by a unanimous vote, as did the remaining resolutions presented to the Board.
