Meth bust scoops up suspects from Allegany, Steuben and Chemung counties UPDATED



The execution of a search warrant by the New York State Police has resulted in methamphetamine-related charges against several subjects. On Thursday at approximately 6 p.m., Troopers and Investigators from N. Hornell, Wayland, and Bath, in conjunction with the N.Y.S.P. Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (C.C.S.E.R.T.), executed the warrant at a private residence located at 8917 Ct. Rt. 52, Lot 2, in the hamlet of Burns – the residence of Frederick Snyder and Carter L. Snyder.  According to Senior Investigator Curt Eaton, the search yielded components and equipment used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.  Charged with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, 3rd degree, a class “D” felony, and Unlawful Disposal of Methamphetamine Laboratory Material, a class “E” felony, were the following:
Carter L. Snyder; age 48; #8917 Ct. Rt. #52, Lot #2, Arkport, N.Y.
James Batrowny; age 38; Albert St., Elmira, N.Y.
Nicholas E. Rideout; age 29; #8 Spruce St., Canisteo, N.Y.
Sarah Rideout; age 29; #8 Spruce St., Canisteo, N.Y.
Jennifer L. Ellis; age 27; #54 ½ Main St., Almond, N.Y.
All were arraigned before Town of Dansville Justice Ellen Gendreau and remanded to the Steuben Co. Jail.  Snyder and Batrowny were remanded without bail; Nicholas and Sarah Rideout were remanded on $2,000.00 cash bail/$4,000.00 property bond; and Ellis was remanded on $4,000.00 cash bail/ $8,000.00 property bond.  Hornell Police Dept. assisted with the investigation – further arrests are pending.

An additional arrest has been made regarding the execution of a search warrant by the New York State Police on 03/09/17.  Frederick Snyder, age 45, of #8917 Ct. Rt., #52, Lot #2, Arkport, N.Y., was charged with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, 3rd degree, a class “D” felony, and Unlawful Disposal of Methamphetamine Laboratory Material, a class “E” felony, for allegedly possessing components and equipment used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.  Snyder was arraigned before City of Hornell Judge David Coddington, and remanded to the Steuben Co. Jail without bail.
