Arrest made in Olean church burglary, fire

Olean Police have made one arrest regarding the St. Johns church burglary located at 931 N. Union St. in Olean. Captain Robert Blovsky said the crime occurred during the early morning hours of February 14th, 2017.  21-year-old Thomas Kissinger of 1220 N. Union St in Olean was charged today at 9:00 a.m. by Criminal Unit Investigators with felony burglary 3rd degree, felony criminal mischief 2nd degree and Arson 4th degree. Blovsky said church workers reporting to work February 14th at approximately 7:30 a.m. found that the church had been broken into through the front doors and several thousands of dollars damage was done inside along with a small fire being set inside that had extinguished by itself. Kissinger is due to be arraigned in City Court today.
