Mr. Clark was born on Aug. 16, 1959
in Tioga, Pa. to Gerald and Helen C. (Kear) Clark. He was a 1977 graduate of
Whitesville Central School. Troy met his sweetheart at a high school dance in
Whitesville. On September 27, 1980 he married the love of his life Connie L.
Spencer, who survives.
Troy worked in several area
businesses over the years, but finally settled at Dresser-Rand in Wellsville
from where he recently retired.
In addition to his wife of 40 years,
Troy is survived by his daughter, Kelly Tilman of Andover; two granddaughters,
Taylor Hunt and Brynne Hunt, both of Andover; a dear “adopted” daughter, Amanda
Ballam of Andover; his best friend of many years, Bob Gruber of Andover; a
sister-in-law, Kathy (Neil) Graves of Wellsville; a brother, Ron Clark of
Rochester; a sister, Donna Conley of Hornell; a nephew Brad (Donna) Graves of
Chicago, Ill.; five nieces, Amber (Adam) Kendig of S.C., Lona (Tony) Cook of
Andover, Samantha (Jed) Sawyer of Wellsville, Lindsey (Tyson) McDonald of
Okla., Haley Spencer (Adam Hebblethwaite) of Belmont; and many great nieces and
nephews.
Along with his parents, he was
preceded in death by two brothers, Tim Clark and Calvin Clark and a
brother-in-law, Louie Spencer.
Troy was an avid hunter and had
membership at both the Andover and the Whitesville Rod and Gun Clubs. He
enjoyed participating in sports. His passion was flag football. He was
instrumental in starting the flag football league in Wellsville in 1995; that
league is still active today. He was a player in the league for many years and
after that he stayed with the league as a referee. He enjoyed the sport and the
camaraderie with all the players and fans. Troy also enjoyed slow-pitch
softball and spent many nights under the lights at Tullar Field in Wellsville.
Troy invested himself in his family.
He always attended Kelly’s events throughout her growing years and he held the
tradition by never missing events that Taylor and Brynne were participating in.
He was a caring person who was thoughtful of others. At the same time, he was a
genuine person who felt comfortable saying things as he saw them. On a lighter
side, Troy was thrilled when he would learn that “McRib is Back!”
Troy’s family is planning a
Celebration of Life which will be held in the spring of 2021. Burial will take
place in Valley Brook Cemetery in Andover. Arrangements are under the direction
