Helen is a longtime resident of Belmont. She graduated from
Belmont Central School, St. James' school of Nursing, and from Pediatrics at
Buffalo Children's Hospital. Helen loved being a nurse, she was employed as a
Public Health Nurse for Allegany County, and eventually retired from Angelica
Central School after being their school nurse for many years. She belonged to
Holy Family (formerly St. Mary's), The American Legion Auxiliary 808, and
enjoyed bowling at Community Lanes. Helen was also an avid golfer, flower
gardener, loved driving her ghetto cruiser, and loved the Boxer dog breed.
She is survived by: her husband, Jack; a daughter, Mary Jo
(Mike Trivisondol) Healy of Angelica; a son, Jeff (Christa Zenoski)
Winterhalter of Belmont; eleven grandchildren, David Graves III, Amber
Waasdorp, Megan Healy, Devan Healy, Chandel, Derek Winterhalter, Dylan Winterhalter,
Alex Winterhalter, Joshua Winterhalter, Josh Graham, and Jacob Winterhalter;
several great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Whitney and Clifford “Bud”
(Carol) Whiteny; a sister, Gene (Fred) Mott; and several nieces and nephews. In
addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by a son, Greg Winterhalter (who
is survived by Ellen Graham).
Friends are invited to call on Friday, February 5 from 4 -6
p.m. at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Belmont. A private family Mass of
Christian Burial will take place a later date with burial to follow in St.
