After many years of various individuals changing the community message board by hand, members of the Whitesville Fire Department and Independence Emergency Squad are getting closer to their goal of purchasing a digital community sign. At a cost of approximately $18,000, they have received donations from the Whitesville Central School Class of 2020, the Allegany County Area Foundation, Norton Welding, Rick Graves Excavating and are thankful for many personal donations. Organizers have held fundraisers and hope to meet their goal in the new year. If you would like to contribute, donations would be gratefully accepted by the Independence Emergency Squad at P.O. Box 309, Whitesville, NY 14897.
