Cuba couple arrested during traffic stop in Wyoming County

On August 30, 2020 at approximately 7:50 p.m., a Deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 39 in the Town of Castile. The operator of the vehicle was identified as George Brown, 37, and a female passenger was identified as Sybil Davis, 31, both of Cuba, NY. While speaking with the Deputy, Brown said that he was currently operating on an expired and suspended New York State Driver’s License. The Deputy was able to confirm that Brown’s license was suspended and he was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree and unlicensed operator. During the traffic stop, Davis was also allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected heroin, and was subsequently arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree. Both subjects were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to return to the Town of Castile Court at a later date for further proceedings.
