Obituary: Harlow D. “Hal” Porter, 82, of Coudersport


Harlow D. “Hal” Porter, 82, of Coudersport, PA, died Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. Born May 23, 1936, in Campobello, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of David and Laura Card Porter.  On May 3, 1958, in Shinglehouse, he married the former Sue Jackson, who survives.  He was employed by Pierce Glass in Port Allegany for 32 years.  Hal was a member of Gospel Tabernacle in Coudersport and the Christian Motorcycle Association, serving as president of the Twin Tier Chapter for many years.  Surviving besides wife, Sue, are:  five children, Timothy (Mary) Porter of Linden, Lori (Joseph) Wunderlich of Genesee, Joni (John) Prouty, Jr. of Ulysses, Wendy Porter of Sheffield, and Bethany (Kerry) Harley;  13 grandchildren;  13 great-grandchildren;  two siblings, Wayne (Elizabeth) Porter of Andover, OH and Carol Ann Kinney of Lubeck, ME; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; and a daughter, Kelly S. Porter; and a brother, Austin Porter.  Friends may call at the Gospel Tabernacle, 420 Rte. 6 West, Coudersport, PA on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., with Funeral Services following at 4:00 p.m.  The Rev.
